Asia Cup 2023: Format, Schedule, Venues, Dates – The 2023 Asia Cup will be held as the 16th edition of the Asia Cup, with the matches being played as One Day Internationals (ODIs), and will be hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The tournament will be held from August 30th, 2023, and the final will be played on September 17th, 2023 as a preparatory series before the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Sri Lanka are the defending champions.

The 5 full members of the Asian Cricket Council will play in the tournament including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. They will be joined by Nepal, who qualified by winning the 2023 ACC Men’s Premier Cup.

This year, Pakistan was to host the 16th Asia Cup. Due to security concerns, BCCI decided that the Indian Team would play in Pakistan. Due to this uncertainty, Sri Lanka has been selected as the leading contender to host the Asia Cup.

The hybrid model proposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may be accepted by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) before announcing the Asia Cup dates in 2023. According to the proposed schedule, Lahore will host Pakistan’s opening fixture against Nepal in a group. Three matches of the other group — Bangladesh vs Afghanistan, Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka, and Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh — will also be played in Lahore. After these matches, the competition – a September 1-17 window has been earmarked for it — would move to Sri Lanka.
